California created a pathway for people with significant disabilities to work and build careers. Now it’s time to create a dignified path to retirement.

MISSION
We advocate for policies that ensure Californians with disabilities can work, retire, and continue living independently without losing access to essential services
VISION
We envision a California where every person with a disability has the opportunity to work, retire and live independently.
About the Coalition
The California Disability Retirement Coalition is a growing alliance of individuals with disabilities, caregivers, advocates, service providers and community organizations working to ensure that Californians with significant disabilities can retire without losing the services they depend on to live independently.
We believe retirement should be a milestone to celebrate—not a point where people are forced to choose between the benefits they earned and the care they need
Why this Matters
Every Californian deserves the opportunity to retire with dignity. Yet for many people with significant disabilities, retirement can threaten the very services that make independent living possible. Yet when these individuals retire, they may face losing the very services that allowed them to work in the first place.
The California Disability Retirement Coalition is working to ensure retirement is not the end of independence, but the beginning of a secure and dignified next chapter.
